 butternut squash
How does a man go about cooking up some butternut squash? My wife bagged some from the garden and I'm wanting to cook it up. Any suggestions?
Thanks Randy

 Re: butternut squash
Your winter squash is ready? Wow, you must have got them in early.
I second the baking method. You can cut up into small cubes, boil until done and make it like mashed potatoes with a little butter.

 Re: butternut squash
Thanks guys. We made soup and it was good. My wife has been cutting the insides up like you would for fryed tators. I put the chunks inside alum foil after a good seasoning and plop onto the green egg. Really good. I would like to fry some up this weekend along with some catfsh filets. Big Dave is there anything you canucks don't put butter and syrup on?

 Re: butternut squash
Do you have a root cellar? Winter squash will keep really well.

 Re: butternut squash
No root cellar. I do have a big basement. My wife did say the butternut squash will keep for a very long time. We have many hanging on the vine that my wife is delaying to bring in. You know its O.K. but right now I'm not lusting for any like I do crawfish.
