I ate black tip. Meat has strong smell to it. Soak in milk helps but we fried it and it was damn good

i have heard the reason the meat is strong is because they urinate through their skin. also cut tail off asap after being caught to bleed also.

Make sure to kill them quickly. Don't let a little shark flop around in the cooler and don't drag a big shark backwards to drown him. Brain them with a knife or bangstick and kill them. Then gut them and pack thoroughly in ice. Soak them one night in buttermilk, then you can prepare them most anyway, so long as you do it soon. They don't keep well.

Know your sharks. Around here some varieties regarded as a nuisance are actually protected. Harvesting the wrong one can carry a hefty fine.

I will marinade them in italian dressing and a half cup of bourbon. It will also take the stink out. them saute them with peppers onion mushrooms and tomato then add a little red wine serve over rice.

Cut behind the head with a knife down to backbone cartilage...then,following the spine, cut all the way back
Towards the tail, then cut down after past the asshole.
The head and guts and all the belly meat,or piss meat,
Will be in one piece...throw it away.
What you are left with is good meat.
I will eat it fresh,if I'm hungry.marinated in milk or beer is better.to me,not good enough to keep in freezer.
Too many good fish to be eating shark but its better than catfish...
Mako shark,different animal,that's good stuff.
Blacktip not as good as mako, but better than other shark...I don't think these piss thru their skin either.
