I caught a sail fish one time. Set the hook on a flounder about 50' out and it came sailing out the water heading straight for me like a frizbee. I ducked and it hit my ol man in the back of the head. Course that was just payback for the time he reared back to make a long cast with a roostertail spinner bait and barried that treble hook in the top of my head. Stipped out a good reel in the process too!

We're going to N. Myrtle Beach in August..ugh. May have to look into some sort of charter. I'm not much on blue water trolling if the mate sets the hook. I know some guys will let clients do that but a lot don't trust sports and rightfully so. They want fish on the deck when they get back so they can book more trips. Can't blame em. But, I'm not paying to let the mate set the hook and hand it off.

Ps...Myrtle Beach SUCKS!

Yea...my in-laws have a forkin condo in N. Myrtle. It's a bunch of damn outlet stores and oh yeah 11 million assholes on the beach. Old assholes. Not much scenery.

I'd rather stay home and watch two turtles fork.

well if ya'll come to sc, bring them GT and PD's and lets ride in the swamp, just keep stumpy away from them rabitt sheriffs, they don't mix to well. lol If you go to MB, head south a little to murrels inlet. There is some good flounder fishing/gigging and some good inshore for reds etc.

sister-inlaw has a house on the beach at Pawleys Island, just south of Murrles Inlet. I assume there are reds in the back areas ?

and yes MB is a disaster, its the worst of all these places in one-Gatlinburg/PanamaCity/Gulf Shores/Branson/Atlantic City but there is one good thing about it and thats "Masters Bar " :D
