Went out of Lynnhaven inlet yesterday to troll for blues and spanish mackrel. Caught a shitpot of fish but it started to get a little snotty so we headed down to Ruddee Inlet to see what was what. Tried some flounder rigs and caught a few croakers. I twitched my rig and the rod doubled over (7' inshore spinning 2oz weight rod) peeled drag. Right about that time, Dr. Julie Ball ...http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q ... lie&aqi=g1 was coming through the inlet. I realized I had a baseball cap snagged on my hook. It was really fighting so I played along. Ole Julie kicked her boat in neutral to watch the fight.
I got the hat right below the surface and my buddy reached down with the de-hooker and let the hat go.
