Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
Since the ducks are scarce for most, lets cook some pork! 1) select your baby back ribs
2) boil for one hour
3) remove from boiling water and season them up in foil with can of beer
4) wrap them up in foil
5) throw on grill (gas is fine)
6) cook on grill for 30 to 45 minutes until liquid is nearly dried up
7) baste in BBQ sauce and cook for 10 minutes
8) plate
9) eat em up!
10) make turd Pic coming soon!

It's actually pretty good. Fall off the bone and you'd never know they were boiled. Can't beat a 6 hr smoke though

Re: Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
A friend of mine showed me the way they do em at the restaurant he used to cook at. Take a deep foil pan and line the bottom with red potatoes. Full with beer/water/seasoning about half way up the potatoes. Lay ribs on top of potatoes, and cover pan with foil. Cook in the oven for a couple hours, and take off and finish on the grill with BBQ sauce. It will be a fall off the bone rib, if you like it that way.

Re: Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
It all depends on if you like the meat to be mushy. I like them to be a little firm, but not tough.

Re: Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
Not sure the technique would translate well to ribs, but I saw on a food network once where some top end steak restaurants put their aged steaks in vacuum plastic bags and soak them in 180 degree water until ready to cook. Then they just lightly sear the sides and edges. This results in a steak that is rare but cooked in the center with a nice crispy surface.
I'm wondering if the same technique could apply to ribs. I think boiling ribs just destroys the texture and flavor of the meat. Soaking in vacuum pack bags would preserve the flavor and not damage texture of the meat.

Re: Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
image.jpgI like some ribs. I put a dry rub on mine with some Louisiana seasoning. Let them sit in the fridge for a couple hours then put on the pit for 3 hours at about 300 then open them up after the third hour and put some bbq sause on them then cook for 1 more hour.

If you boil them use a pressure cooker instead. 20 minutes in the pressure cooker then throw on the pit for an hour @250f

Re: Quick tender ribs - 10 easy steps!
The wife cooks them from time to time like that. She boils them then coats them with BBQ sauce and puts them in the oven for awhile. They always come out really good. I'll agree that ribs on the smoker are better but for fast and easy they are awesome.
