Post ideas - what to cook in the duck blind
Well to date we have cooked the typical breakfast eggs, bacon, sausage, buiscuits, ect. Have cooked beniets, hamburgers, chili, jambalaya. Trying to think of anything else.

Any ideas??

We've brought crock pots with roasts that are already done. We just plug them up to the generator long enough to hear it back up. We've also done pork lions in the oven with one of those roasting bags. Tacos/burritos are good. Dirty rice. All kinds of soups and stews. Chicken pot pie then make biscuits in the oven when you get ready. We've done it all!!

shit you could make your a little stand to ratchet strap to that tree and se a little stove on it and get it done right there. Man were from Louisiana we always like to eat and were always gonna figure out how to cook and have a good time. Food in the duck blind tastes soo much better than back at home or an old dried up biscuit from the store before you go.

Post Re: ideas - what to cook in the duck blind
Last weekend in the boat I made I made cheeseburgers for lunch. Sometimes I make philly cheesesteaks, other times its tacos. Soup is always accompanying the sandwiches. I make a lot of jiffy pop popcorn on the burners as a snack. The kids think its fun to shake the pan and watch it grow...

I once took out a couple of guys from work and it was one of their birthdays. My wife sent a store bought thawed (fully cooked) apple pie along and a container of ice cream. I slowly heated the pie on top of a pan that was on the burner so it didn't burn. Once it was warm we added the ice cream, which stayed frozen on its own. ala mode...

Hunted in a boat blind two weeks ago where they made nachos... bean dip, cheese sauce, jalapenos, diced green onions, etc. It was a nice change. All he did was have everything chopped and ready in ziplocks and then just heated the cheese and bean sauce on the burners...

I have another friend who has a small propane oven in his boat that he bought at cabelas. His specialty is baking cookies now. It's actually kind of nice because he makes those cheap tube biscuits for lunch to go with the meal.

all you really need is one of these and Jimmy Dean sandwiches or left overs in tin foil and you got hot food in about an hour - mine has worked for a couple hours on a fresh group 27 battery, motor starts no problem in single digit weather. No clean up, extra cooking gear or open flame hazard of cooking.

disclaimer - if you have a old/suspect battery and no back up battery I would not advise using this item. Sandwiches cook best when rotated 180 degrees periodically hold 5-6 sandwiches

it may seem like a lot of trouble to some but that's the best hunts. Hunting later in the morning/day cooking something good and greasy and a big bunch of mallards fall in and you mash em. Hows it get better than that???!! Hell sometimes we don't go hunting until 10
