I managed to pick up this older cookbook (copyright 1984) from my 2nd job a while back. Despite the goofy cover art it's packed full of great Southern and cajun recipes. Exactly 342 pages of seafood, sides, wild game, veggies and desserts. Apparently they had some restaurants at one time....maybe still? I was curious if any of you Louisiana folks knew any history on the place? Long shot I know but I figured this would be the place to ask

I was thinking of posting pics of the index in case somebody wanted a recipe but I dont want nobody busting my balls about copyright infringement or some shit.

Theres one around bossier city or shreveport, somewhere in that area. I've eaten there a couple times. Decent food, nice restaurant. Nothing real special though, not in my opinion anyway.

Good to know. I noticed alot of the recipes in the book were very straight forward, easy with simple ingredients and techniques. I didn't really expect the place to still be open but its kind of cool to come across a 30+ year old cookbook from a restaurant that's around 1000 miles away and still in business.

They still have them in Baton Rouge and New Orleans and both are good.

It used to be arguably one of baton rouges best seafood resteruant's . If I remember correctly it was bought out by the Piccadilly chains and went down hill from there.

I had a buddy that raised some blue pheasants one year we did the same thing with. It was a great time. We went out and set them up, let the dogs do their thing, shot a mess of em, ate like kings and got drunk as 10 indians afterwards lol

Lot of folks around here raise quail to hunt. We buy day old birds around 15-25 cent and by the time we shoot them we got 2 or 2.50 in em.

I think mostly that book is restaurant recipes. So they're trying to make things in big numbers

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.
