I would a good recipe for a spicy venegar based bbq sauce. Also....I don't how familiar you guys are with Alabama but there is a bbq joint in Mobile called Dreamland. I definately recommend it. They have a spicy venegar bbq sauce that is awesome. That's what I'm going for. Anybody? |

Here is the one I use: Vinegar based bbq Sauce #1 (Hot) 1 cup (250 ml) apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste) 1 tablespoon brown sugar or 1/2 tablespoon black molasses Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix well. To really bring out the flavors, let the mixture stand for 4 hours before using. |

Has anyone tried Jay's BBQ in Baton Rouge? It's the best sauce ever invented. I think it is vinegar based. I worked there for a brief time during college in an attempt to acquire the recipe. I was unsuccessful (at both the job and intelligence gathering). It seems BBQ sauce recipes are more closely guarded than Area 51. |
