Nice pics. Its colder than crap here in So Indiana but we have no ice. Which I'm glad you do and are taking advantage of it. There is something about cold water fish that just makes them taste better.

Them are some fine lookin "eater" Pike right there.

I haven't fished through the ice in years but do fish the river until freeze up and right after ice out.

Randy's right about the taste of cold water fish......Give me some walleye fillets from 32 degree water anyday......

That looks like some fun right there,,, minus the bitter cold.

Pictures can be deceiving, so are those pike bigger than the hole, or is the hole bigger than the pike??? LOL, cause the hole looks smaller than the fish.

Mitschke: the biggest northern was 11 lbs the smallest was 5.5 lbs three of them were over 30 inches. The auger in the pic drills a 8 inch hole. The crappies were around 12 inches.

Ice in the pics. is still 2 ft plus, although we had a melt off and it has opened the Dams back up so no more walleye fishing on the ice. Its fun to beable to go out when its 15 below, be warm and catch fish.....

My brother in Vermont went ice fishing last year. He caught 25 pounds of ice. He took it home, his wife tried to fry it, and they both almost drowned ;)

All this talk about ice fishing and walleye got me a trip to Culvers and got a walleye sandwich. Kind of bummed out now. Not very good. Them cold water walleyes is some awesome eating. We catch alot of sauger here and they are similar but smaller filet's.

Slew from what I have heard there are some monster walleye in Lake Cumberland and below the dam.
Couple years ago while hunting with Canuck he had caught some walleye right before coming home from bear/moose hunting. They were fresh caught and ready for filleting. We blazed them out and Canuck fried them up for us. Wow.
Buck I hear there is a trick to filleting those pike. I have caught them before but never did filet them due to hearing they are bony. Whats the trick?

We took 6 more home yesterday day from 6 to 13 lbs. The crappies are starting up again, but its 35 degrees and raining right now

Netman, Its hard to explain and I do it little diff. but this video gives you the basic idea. They eat wonderful once you pull the y bone out. There is also a bone in the tail that runs parallel with the fillet that he doesn't mention.
