But I am pizzed at Greyhound Bus Lines....

Had a family friend come to visit from San Antonio who rode East on
a Greyhound Bus to visit us.... When they spotted his USMC tatto
and small backpack with his clothes and personal items they decided
to do a "full search".... Inside his shaving kit they found clippers and
nail files which they "confiscated" --- even though he explained that
they had personal value to him because he carried them overseas on
active duty ( he is still active USMC but on leave ) even took his can
of Cope which they claimed could be dope.... To top it off these 2 rent
a cops even provoked him by saying "you aren't gonna go all PTSD
on us are you" ???

Well I spent an hour down there and they are drafting an apology letter
and looking for the items taken from him illegally.... There is an actual
list of prohibited items which you may not carry on a bus.... None of the
items taken are on that list....

I a sick at my stomach that he was put thru such pure BS here stateside
while on leave serving our country...

They are lucky he didn't go AWOL on their ass.

Everybody remember the beginning of Rambo , they drew first blood, this country is to politically correct these days , they should have comped his ride and gave him the red carpet treatment, semper fi to your buddy.

You should report this to Fox News ! They love stuff like this!!

The bad part is that the items taken have "personal value" to him
as he has carried them on foreign duty... He was told that someone
could come and claim them - and told that if he used his phone
it would be confiscated too - so he waited till he finished the trip
back to call us and ask us to claim his items... Well it turns out
that NO someone can't claim them... Only he can claim them by
calling in and requesting they be sent via mail on to him...

Update - Greyhound has a "Zero Tolerance" rule on descrimination and
after hearing of these events conducted an interview with the 2 security
personel and decided to "black list" both of them from ever working at
a Greyhound facility for life. The security company which Greyhound uses
is scheduling an internal revue as they also have a similar policy - so they
may end up loosing their jobs.

In addition to a refund and a formal written apology - Greyhound has now
shipped the "personal items" in question back to him via overnight priority.

At least upon revue Greyhound has done the right thing.

I just hope no other service personel have an experience like this one.
