RangerP, the difference with this tragedy and murders committed by both whites and blacks, statistics about which you are so fond, which are primarily drug, poverty, or other crime related, is that this was a mass killing solely driven by hatred for blacks and nothing more. There is nothing different about what he did than ISIS beheading Christians. And don't you know that South Caroline is one of only 5 states that failed to enact any hate crime laws, continues to fly the confederate flag on state grounds and is the home of more white supremacist groups than any other state. I also happens to have the largest percentage of Tea Party members than any other, as well. You think his actions were just a coincidental occurrence? Weak people like him are easily influenced by such context.

A few white cops were murdered awhile back solely cause they were white. What's the difference?

As far as "we should be angry" part, I have to disagree. One of my favorite black role models told it best. He said that we have to remove the anger from our hearts. His name is Laurence Tureaud. affectionately know as Mr.T. In a interview I watched he told the story of his path and the minute he removed the anger from his heart and replaced it with love, his life turned around.
If we challenged our children with the ideals of honor, duty and country at an early age they would find a better world in a few generations.
Instead we teach them about transgendered BS, gay themes, putting condoms on cucumbers, ad nauseum.
They can't pray, talk about God, Jesus Christ or anything else. They are taught that Islam is a religion of peace. We are told not to judge all Muslims by the acts of a few radicals, but we are encouraged to judge all gun owners by the acts of a few nut jobs.
We are all judged eventually, the black folks in Charleston are praying for the killer's soul, they don't hate him, they love him. They pray for him to be forgiven.
They aren't concerned with a round table discussion with some politician or a beer summit with the president. They are focused on their judgment day and their life eternal.
Be inspired by these black men and women in Charleston. If ever they were entitled to anger and hate it is now but they removed the anger and hate from their hearts and replaced it with love and forgiveness. That will carry them through this tragedy and through their lives here on Earth.
Now is not the time for self serving politicians to attempt to subvert their love and forgiveness and replace it with hate and anger.
Let us all grieve in peace, forgiveness and love.

Y'all should not demonize Dean for posting this. He has every right to post his opinion. And if he did not post, we would not get all the good research from Ranger P--which is gold . Let Dean ask his questions and make his statements. Doing so will help everyone of you think a little deeper even if they are pretty dumb questions.

I have no doubt that there is someone on here that sympathizes with this shooter. But I bet there are 30 times that number that would have helped as many people in that church as necessary. God loves every human. These people were Christians praying and worshipping God. It is a terrible thing what happened to them. The people in that church were my brothers and sisters in Christ. I do not want to see innocent people minding their own business have a wrong done to them. This was wrong. If I was closer I would go and hang out and pray for the people connected to this shooting and those involved.

I changed my stance on the death penalty about 4 years ago. I no longer believe in it. I have read where it cost more to fry a prisoner than it does to house them for life. If it takes a life time for him to find God, I am ok with that, especially since it cost us less. And if they don't they can live with what they did for a long time.

I am not supposed to hate, but I very much despise cowardly and weak people that commit acts of violence and terrorism on innocent and unarmed people. Anyone who would target women and elderly people has to be one sick minded and weak and cowardly individual. I pray the family members of these fellow Christians are comforted.

Really sad he did this. Especially to what seems to be some good black folks. He could have nailed some drug dealing thugs.
