There would be a permanent flash drive to store the print and record other data about the discharge. I'd be for that. It would require retrofitting all current weapons. Question would be how do we deal with illegal or unregistered weapons? |

So even you admit that it is illegal use of guns that should be stopped. That is according to the last line in you statement. That has always been the problem. How about executing murderes and rapist. Add 10 years to any crime commited with a firearm? Make laws that only effect the criminals not law abiding citizens. |

Look at some of the sentences being handed out now. I was reading about the guy that is threatening Lenten. Killed his daughter in 88 and released from prison in 99. THats 1999 not 2099. Not a gun crime but same principle. "Real long tree and a short piece of rope" Fixes a lot of the issues in this country. |

laws dont effect criminals actions, they just punish them....after the fact....Laws take away freedoms that we once all shared. Crime and violence and evil have been around since the beginning of time and no law will stop that......mandatory firearms training for all high school graduates and thorough back ground checks so that all graduates who can qualify get a ccl and can carry if they choose......more guns in good samartians hands is the best defense from gun violence....smart guns are not the answer....they will hinder defense......and if the gun is legal to the owner and he or she is determined to kill people what good is it? Will law enforcement be forced to use the same system? Guns get taken from cops and used against them also.......we must understand freedom comes with a price and the more freedoms are taken away, the higher the price we law abiding citizens will pay......we cannot let the murders of 20 children take away our rights.......i heard Joe Biden say that "if it only saves one child it will be worth it" with that thought hell lets get rid of cars and planes and anything else that could kill someone in any manor.....with that mentality, when will it end? I do not fear guns nor do i fear for my childrens safety. I do not seeing any laws man can pass that will stop violence. All I know is that i will fight and kill someone that threatens me or my family, i will not give the criminal, or the government for that matter, the advantage. |

For any dickbreath who wants a biometric scanner to gain access to a firearm...stop drinking unicorn jizz and face the facts... It's a pipe dream that would get you killed. And its too big brotherish. I have a bio-scanner on my keyboard that I have to use to log on to my system at work. ON A GOOD DAY IT TAKES 3-5 SECONDS TO ACCEPT MY FINGERPRINT. ON A BAD DAY, IT TAKES MINUTES. And like now, keyboard crapped out and I have to reset it so I can finish my work and go home. So anyone who 'thinks' a biometric scanner on a gun is a great idea, do us a favor and volunteer for exploratory brain surgery performed by a proctologist. |

I'm sure all the criminals are gunna line up to get a new finger print scanner on there illegal gun.... Get real Every solution they have for gun control will only affect the people that don't need any more restrictions. Criminals will always have guns, hell they get them easier and cheaper than us. |

So what about the millions of guns in circulation? This is a stupid pipe dream. How about a national database for nut cases so they get flagged during a background check. That's a start and how about holding judges responsible. The overwhelming number of crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Should we give up our freedoms because a crazy goes off? This has been happening for ever and there is no way to prevent it but don't infringe on my right to defend my family and others in harms way. Dguidry, what is your stance on gun control? |

The best thing to do would be take 1.2 billon dollars from the tax payers and research this new finger print gun..... Like I said before, all this shit is directed towards the people (criminals) that should not own guns, they already can't get guns but they do. none of its gunna help, only thing it's gunna do is make it even more of a pain for the good people to get guns. Does this finger print safety cost anything? It's already bull shit and I wouldn't wanna put it on 1 gun let alone the rest of the guns in my safe. Will Obama pay for my finger print scanner? How about we let these pos people in the White House test it, might thin the heard... |

There have been several solutions offered that in combination I think will reduce the chances of a Stonybrook happening again. 1. mental health screening of permit applicants 2. More thorough background checks 3. User recognition technology 4. Ammunition tracking 5. Weapon tracking I think theses are good to start with. |

I guarantee they will try to kill two birds with one stone.... #1-Pay for it, by taxing the legal responsible gun owners to own these guns. #2-Accomplish thier "feel good legislation" and make peope warm and fuzzy and buy those votes! Dean,,,when did they change law school over to Lawmaker school? I guess they switched the books from "laws that exist, and how to uphold them" to the new testament.
