I hope I'm wrong, but this looks like its gonna happen. The implications are huge. If North Korea launches any missile type at all for any reason, test or otherwise, it will be destroyed and trigger immediate strategic bombardment of its command and control centers, just as was done in Iraq. While we're at it, every possible site with nuclear development involvement would be destroyed, as well. The rhetoric and posturing out of Washington right now is too strong to suggest anything else. As stupid militarily as it would be, North Korea's only response would be a massive push of troops into South Korea and a brief barrage of conventional artillery into South Korea, with little effect. I see no way that would accomplish anything for them, but they are so isolated from reality they may still believe in this strategy. It worked in the 1950's so why not again. Then we get a truce. North Korea's ruler remains in place. He will have fought the battle against the tyrant USA and solidified his position within the military. So what if 100K troops and civilians die. This conflict will disrupt all shipping near Japan and Eastern China for some time. I don't see China or Russia getting involved. The last shot will be fired within 30 days of the conflicts beginning, maybe much sooner. I don't see anyone using Nuclear weapons at all. |

Mr Guidry For once I agree with you the USA will bomb the shit out of North Korea when they do attack South Korea, but I dont think China will remain nutural. I think they will come calling for the payment of the debt we owe them and when we cant pay up they will side with North Korea . I also think that China will warn us not to get involved with the issues in Korea. |

I read an article a few days ago that stated China claimed it would stay out of it, reasons being the ignorance of North Korea's actions. However, that's probably just as big a smoke screen as Obama's entire presidency. |
