A new Congressional Budget Office report that says the Affordable Care Act may cost the economy more jobs than previously projected while insuring fewer Americans.

Newly revised CBO projections show that President Obama’s signature health care law may reduce workforce participation by about 2.3 million workers by 2017. That’s compared to the previous Congressional Budget Office estimate of 800,000 fewer workers by 2021.

In some cases, employers may be reducing their employees' hours to avoid having to pay for health coverage under the new law.

Obamacare’s employer mandate requires businesses that employ 50 or more full-time workers – defined as those who work 30 or more hours a week – to offer health insurance or pay a penalty of $2,000 per worker. Some businesses are skirting the penalty by reducing workers hours.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office gave new fuel to the debate over the Affordable Care Act Tuesday with its estimate that the law will lead to the eventual loss of about 2.5 million full-time jobs.

It will cost us jobs, make even more stagnant wages. It will lower the quality of health care and it will actually drive up the cost somewhere. We are going to wreck an industry that was the best in the world. All we needed was a few tweaks to let the free market come along and use competition to bring the cost down.

We need to get the illegals out of the country so that they unclog the emergency rooms, along with people that cannot work for what they are getting.

It's funny that the media is talking about this now but the Republicans and conservatives were saying this Shit would happen a long time ago! They were more worried about pushing an agenda then reading what was in the OBAMA CARE and how it would really affect Americans.

Ain't got time to find the references, but the lost jobs claim is bullshit.; thats not at all what the CBO concluded.

Ok, what is anyone doing about this? Are you working on a campaign? Will you go out and knock on doors for the upcoming primaries (not in Louisiana, we have jungle primaries)? Everyone should have equal access to health care. That is morally right. Paying for it is a Vegas poker game for the consumer and the insurance industry and everyone should have a seat at the table.

Having access to health CARE is different from having health INSURANCE. Insurance is just one way to pay for CARE.

I bust my ass to support myself, my business is down drastically from my best year. I don't want or use the insurance I am forced to buy because I don't go to the doctor unless its an emergency. Based on how little I go, I would be much better off paying out of pocket instead of pissing away the premiums that are forced on me. One reason I don't go to the doctors, is I still have to pay a copay and balance of bill, and that's not in the budget. Either pay a copay, or eat. Another reason is time, I work crazy hours and get paid by commission, no work, no pay. Therefore I don't take time off. I've had 5 days off in the last 3 calendar years. I am pissed that I scrape by, busting my ass while the government steals from me and other hard working people to give it a way. Am I bitching because business and income is down, no..just pointing out that those who support the government mugging its subjects and forcing things on people who don't want it, are delusional.

Simple math, yes I do pay slightly less on income taxes because the health insurance premiums reduce my taxable income, HOWEVER it only reduces my income tax liability by 25-30% of the health insurance premiums. So simple math, I am pissing away the other 70-75% of the premiums. I would rather pay the slightly higher taxes and have more disposable income. Can you understand that math? My only complaint is that I no longer have the freedom of choice because others are FORCING their will upon me. Its paramount to being raped.

And I am sick of being raped and mugged by the government, especially when they waste what the take from me. We have a problem with too many illegals in this country using resources for CITIZENS. If someone does something ILLEGAL, TJAT MAKES THEM A CRIMINAL, THEREFORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE CRIMINALS. Anyone who allows them to be here is aiding and abetting CRIMINALS.

For instance, consider a single mom with one child. If she earns $23,419 a year, 150% of the poverty rate, she’d get a subsidy of $3,198 for health insurance. But if she makes one dollar more, her subsidy would be reduced by a dollar. Together with payroll taxes and income taxes she’d owe, that’s more than a 100% marginal tax rate on that extra dollar of earnings.

Some people will rationally decide that it doesn’t pay to work more hours, or at all. Economist Casey Mulligan has figured that some people would actually be better off financially working 29 hours a week rather than 40 hours because of the high implicit marginal tax as the subsidy goes away.

For some people, the ACA provides a powerful disincentive to work, the CBO said.

This is not a surprise. It’s part of the design of Obamacare.

What did Obama say about raising the debt limit about 7 years ago? It was unpatriotic or something. But he keeps raising it. I guess he lied once again. And what kills me is that libs like Dguidry do not care one bit about this country. They can see it is cratering yet, they do the same thing over and over.
