Whether you believe the police shooting in Furgeson was justifiable or not (I believe it was), just one of many police emails shows what we all know: racism is rampant and we need to ramp up federal oversight again to punish those responsible. One police officer joked that an African American who had a miscarriage should receive an award from crime stoppers. I am paraphrasing. If you believe similarly you are an embarrassment to our country and yourself. |

Just my opinion but passing on a joke is the same as saying it yourself and if your Intent is to stop unjust harm and cruel treatment before it happens then maybe you just assert yourself into topics at a better more acute angle. You need to stop being an embarrassment to even the lightly educated population by posting bullshit all the time. I would figure with a such education that you have, you would be better at approaching such immense and controversial topics. I'm tired of bullshit people trying to act like they are doing something to promote the wellness of this country but "paraphrase" a joke and continue it along. Why don't you support those of us that ACTUALLY fight for the foundation of this country? I've given my time and given and lost alot only to listen to wealthy shit heads complain about shit but only throw money and supporting others to do something "they are fighting against". . Yall are just Avoiding the discussion. When I was a prosecutor one of my duties was to review and submit for approval to the justice department just about every official action of every public body in the parish. This was mandated by the Civil Rights amendments and regulations adopted to help enforce them. There was so much blow back it was difficult to maneuver all of the politcal nuances. That process forced public bodies to comply and it worked. The oversight was lifted with the expectation things would continue to improve with regard to racism. It did but I'm afraid there has been a retrogression which needs to be addressed. Some will not like it when we have to go back to federal oversight, but It may be the only solution. |

Deano, while I find myself disagreeing with you on most subjects, I do respect your passion for your beliefs. I'm compelled to ask you....Who are the racists? Only whites? Blacks possibly? It was a joke sent in an email.....I've sent, received, and laughed at jokes about black people, women, gays, lesbians, and lawyers. Not many can honestly say that you never once told or laughed at an offensive joke. I hate the PC police I think people should beable to say whatever they want and offend whomever they want period. |

Dean I think you should put all your efforts in teaching all these poor black kids how to listen and act when a police man tells them somthing. It seems to me that they have no respect for authority. Everytime I see one of these shootings it seems the black guy won't do what the cops tell them. Hell how fast would you shoot someone trying to kill you. The way I see it if these black guys would have done what they were told by police no one would have been shot. It's not racist to want go home to your family after work!! |
