I just don't understand why we should be forced to pay so that someone else gets for free what we earned? I busted my ass in school and got a full scholarship so I didn't have to pay for college and I will be debt free when I graduate because my parents couldn't afford to pay for my college and I didn't want student loans forever. Why the hell should we be forced to pay to make school free for everyone then? I worked hard to get there why can't they? I understand not everyone can pay for it but they have student loans to help out and you go to college to get a decent job so you can pay off those loans to end up better in the future. If everyone goes to college for free then who is going to go get the buggies that are left in the Walmart parking lot and bring them back? A degree will be worthless if everyone has one. And what is wrong with blue collar jobs? Why do we condone those as a nation? Why isn't being a welder or an oilfield worker or a construction worker an honorable job anymore? You can make good money doing that and don't need an education. A degree will do nothing for you, it doesn't make you rich and doesn't make you better than anyone without it. The whole way we look at jobs in America is messed up and that's where half of the problem stems from. |
