What's the deal over liberals like NYC mayor, etc. not wanting Uber in their cities? I thought it was a good way to introduce competition in taxi markets around the country. Also gives the person a chance to earn some money when they need it. I've personally never used Uber so I can't speak to how well the app works but it seems to be very popular except with the liberals. |

I think it has to do with the drivers using thier smartphones while driving. I saw a peice on the news last night where a little girl got killed because the driver was checking his app looking for fares and ran over her and her mom. |

Bingo on the non union answer. Liberals hate anything that does not line their pockets or stuff their ballot boxes and everyone knows the unions are professionals at that. |

Off topic, but if anyone is leery about using Uber heres an anecdote... My wife and I used Uber after a buddies wedding reception. I got on the app, the driver called me within 30 seconds of requesting a ride... Driver pulls up in a newer model four door truck that was clean as could be, and turns out he driver was a Vet... Anyways he drove us home and we had a good time... The fare that was charged was more than reasonable for the distance and would have easily been twice that for a taxi... I cant say enough good things about the experience and needless to say our driver got a nice tip... |
