We have a governors election coming up soon. We have John Bel Edwards and David Vitter. If you want to vote for a real conservative, vote for David Vitter. I followed nearly every vote he has made in Washington. He has been 95%plus of what I want him to be. He is pro everything that most every person except for Dean probably, that we would want. I have met both of these men and will tell you. Democrats are democrats first no matter what they say. When the national democrats come snooping around, John Bel Edwards will bend over ready to take what ever they are paying for. And it will not be good. He will only get his power from democrats on the national level. And we will not get anything from him or them. He says he is pro gun, but when the national democrats come around, he will be deferring to them so that he will not be a pariah in his own party. Vote Vitter. And get all your family and friends to vote Vitter. He has been very good in the Senate over the last 6 years, I think he will be in Louisiana. Edwards has always voted for more taxes. Please go vote for Vitter. |

No I'm glad you asked! I'm not a fan because he consistently voted "nay" on bills that would bring jobs back to America and open up factories. He also was in favor of the TPP which would just be NAFTA 2.0 and further destroy our broken economy and market. Yet he was a co-sponsor of the Keystone pipeline bill? It just doesn't make sense and I can't figure out what he's for. He has also consistently voted nay on bills that would lower student debt by lowering interest rates. I have a full scholarship so I'm not worried about it really, but at the same time I feel for my friends and how much debt they're accruing. Also he votes no on bills that would lower taxes on the middle class and raise taxes for the 1 percent. They already have enough loopholes as it is and most are paying sub 10 percent taxes. Also he has done NOTHING for small business owners when it comes to helping pass bills that would lower the corporate taxes that are killing our small businesses. Vitter is yet another Republican who cares for nothing more than the 1% donors. |

Didn't vote for Vitter during the primaries. Here was my reasoning.... He avoided all the debates. He had an attitude of almost "entitlement" that he was going to be the nominee and the governor. Basically, he didn't earn my vote. Now that he is the GOP nominee, I have no choice but to vote for him....which I will do only because I stand on non-liberal platforms. Ok, that sounds good, thanks for answering. Have you ever delved into those votes to see if those bill contained other legislation in it that would hurt another segment? For instance, those lowering of interest rates on students loans, they may have had something attached to it that would make the government pay for them after 20 years. Stuff like that. I would say vote no also. We do not have clean, one issue bills anymore. They all do it. But the Business groups give him high ratings. But there are always a lot in those bills that may be 40% bad but the other 60% is good. I would rather vote no to a lot of stuff than usher in stuff that will hurt us. I have followed his votes, I cannot remember too many where he did not vote the conservative way and the way I would want him to vote. But I do know this. We will hardly ever get what we want from Edwards. His business rating is less than 30%. That normally means that he is high on business taxes and for not a very good business climate. |

If you're a republican read this carefully: John Bell Edwards is pro-life. That should decide it for you pretty easily, since many of you draw the line right there. |

He was vice chairman of the panel that enforced the West Point honor code. Dean, I'm surprised your not supporting a Harvard, Oxford, Tulane and Rhodes scholar kind of guy....David Vitter. Besides, he has an "A+" rating from the NRA vs just an "A" for Edwards. Says enough for me. What shocks me the most is that everybody...including his opponent...wants to hang the guy for prostitution when Bill Clinton was sitting in the Oval Office getting hummers from Monica Lewinsky. Vitter is also endorsed by the oil and gas association.. Edwards received an F ranking in the energy department and wants to cut oilfield jobs for pollution reasons. Most of us in Louisiana make our money with something that usually has something directly to do with oil.. It's one of the largest employment firms in Louisiana. So I think it's important we vote for a candidate that is endorsed by it.. |
