Post Biden Bungles - Infrastructure
"A transportation bill, I think, needs to be a transportation bill. Not a Green New Deal. It needs to be about roads and bridges," Missouri Rep. Sam Graves, the top Republican on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, warned Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg during a recent hearing.

Funny thing - less than 30% of the "Infrastructure" bill is even listed for roads and bridges ! ! !

Matter of fact less than 10% of the "Infrastructure" bill is for roads and bridges ! ! !

Biden claimed it would fix 10,000 bridges and 20,000 miles of roads - but just Texas
all by itself has identified over 11,000 bridges that need repair and Texas is ranked 51
out of 52 as having the least percentage of unsafe bridges in the nation at 1.5% ! ! !

Things just don't add up here ! ! !

If roads and bridges only get 115 million then where is the other 1,885 million going ? ? ?

He says --- $100 billion to upgrade and build new schools

OK - just my home town's school district has over 800 Million in loan debt currently
for building a high school a bus barn and a few elementary schools and we are a town
of less than 100,000 people.... Sounds like we would be lucky if each state got to
build 2 high schools out of that small of an amount of funding.....

Just how likely is anyone to see one of these few schools get built in their town ? ? ?

He says ---- $100 billion to expand high-speed broadband across the entire country

Well Comcast kind of already does that sort of thing and in just Modesto California they
just spent 15 million to improve and expand high speed services....

So that is only enough funding to do 10 more medium sized cities like Modesto with
populations of 200,000....

How likely is it that anyone will see that funding come to their town ? ? ?

So where is the other 1,685 million going ? ? ?

Pretty freaking good question....

Because it won't be used to build a southern border wall - or defense weapons
like Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Next Generation Fighter Jets, or Military Bases to
replace the dozens that were closed under Obama or things that would keep us
and our kids safe here at home....

Seems it buys something else entirely ! ! !

Do we even want or need it - whatever that is ? ? ?

If we did how likely is it to end up helping your town ? ? ?

Post Re: Biden Bungles - Infrastructure
Biden - in his speech claimed falsely to have the majority of Republican middle class support
for his big spending plan - he does not !

In fact he does not even have support from the very senior Democrats he needs !

........

President Joe Biden on Thursday faced the prospect of all-out political war with Republicans over his $2 trillion blueprint to revitalize America's infrastructure, with a top Democrat also offering only partial support over how to pay for the package.

A day after the Democratic president unveiled his "American Jobs Plan" in Pittsburgh, the Senate's top Republican said Biden has no public mandate for the proposal and predicted that Republicans would not support it. Biden's plan combines spending on roads and bridges with climate change initiatives and human services like elder care.

"I'm going to fight them every step of the way, because I think this is the wrong prescription for America," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told a news conference in Owensboro, Kentucky.

"That package that they're putting together now, as much as we would like to address infrastructure, is not going to get support from our side," McConnell added.

Meanwhile, a key House of Representatives Democrat said lawmakers could significantly change the tax proposals included in Biden's plan.

"We will accept some of what he is proposing," said Democratic Representative Richard Neal, who chairs the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.

"If we can improve upon the president's proposal, we want to do that," Neal added.

Where is the "Infrastructure" money to combat China's 600% increase in Military spending
since the Obama era which De-Funded our Military and led to the US no longer being the
superior world power ? ? ?
