Post New Addict!
Introduced my stepson to duck hunting this past weekend. He got calls and waders for Christmas. Had to walk in due to water conditions, but the spoons were everywhere. He shot a pintail at first light and the rest were spoons. Didn't matter to either of us. He enjoyed shooting and I enjoyed working birds and watching him shoot and Aala retrieve. Needless to say, he is hooked!

Ain't nothin better than watching the next generation enjoy this passion we have enjoyed for years! Congrats to you and your stepson, seems you have a new hunting buddy.

The best part was that it wasn't just a walk in and shoot hunt. The birds were landing on the other side of the cove because of the wind but there was no cover. So we had to move locations and build a blind right on the bank with cattails and branches. It was a dang good learning experience seeing how wind sun and cover affect the birds.
