I can only imagine the feeling you get when you watch your lil girl having a blast doing what we love. My lil girl is almost 2, I can't wait.

Re: father-daughter hunt
shells are expensive...but we use steel target shot for the coots....ducks too sometimes. i get a case if hi-brass stee target shot for 76.00...cant beat that. i have 2 kids that aint scared to pull the trigger. the target load is another reason the lil girl handles the 12 ga so well.... nobody eats coots....i just love killing them because they remind me of obama! do u eat deer horns??

Re: father-daughter hunt
Cajun, where you got that shirt from? And while we are talking about young'ns hunting. My daughter has been buggin me to go duck hunting. Problem is she is only 9 and only has shot a 410 & 22 that were held by her pawpaw and sitting on a log. Never once shot a bird. She isn't strong enough to shoulder a youth model shotgun. How do I get her shooting? Also, what is holding me back from bringing her is a private place that I can build a sturdy blind and not have her shooting out of a boat. I didn't start shooting my own gun till I was 12y/o. My dad didn't take hunting as a young kid, so I had to rely on my uncles to take me. Shoot I didn't get my own gun till I was 12-13y/o.

Re: father-daughter hunt
Miller.....I have a single shot 410 with a 6 position colapsible stock, heat shield , and composite forend.....I put it all together for my lil boy when he was 6. Come pick it up next tuesday, keep it the rest of the season then I want it back. U dont want to buy a gun for hr now..it will be too small when she really ready to use it. Let her shoot some small lead shells in the yard then put some 3 inch steel when u go hunt. Dont let her shoot without earplugs...ever. Dont force anything...start with afternoon or mid morn hunts....unless she an earlybird.

Get her some birds swimming in the decoys to shoot. When she starts getting bored, pack it up.
