Took my 11y/o daughter to PAC on Sat for youth weekend. She had a great time and killed some birds. We lost 1 teal early morning so she should have had 5 ducks. She finished out with 4 pouldeu, 1 Ruddy, 1 BWT & 2 shovelers. She was only shooting after the birds landed. We have to work on her shooting in the air, although she did take some shots in the air but missed. Then a few shovelers came over the back of the blind and spooked us while watching some greys trying to decoy and she shot 1 of them. We were fist pumping when it hit the water and didn't care about anything else. We borrowed a 20g pump. If she would have been quicker pumping the gun, I think should could have limited out. We had birds all over and if we both would have had guns, I think we would have done good. Because she is taking 4-H shooting and will be shooting skeet and archery, she will be getting her own gun very soon. It was planned to buy one anyway. The wife can use it also. Wanted to make a video, but I forgot the JVC camera at home and the action was pretty good that I forgot to video everything with my phone. Other than that I am very proud and I think she is hooked. She was pretty pumped about duck hunting and wants to hunt opening weekend with me. Too bad I can't use the same blind (it was built by my friend that didn't take a youth hunting but he will be hunting opening weekend). So hopefully I can find a spot that we can hunt next weekend. I have a few places in mind and will be heading out to scout. Here is a pic of her haul. |

Can't beat that. It took my 9yo a few hunts before he was dropping them out the sky. Nothing like pot shooting them!! |

It was funny when the pouldeu would decoy. All 4 that did decoy, she did shoot. The ducks were a little quicker. By the time she would get ready to shoot they would take off. When I say we had a lot of teal decoy, we did. Probably had 25 hit the decoys and she never got a shot off. Or missed them. It was still a great time. |

That's awesome. Sounds like y'all got some birds down there too. I bet my 9yo went 20 times with me and never complained one time. Even when it got down to single digits. |

good job ! , we were out there this weekend , my 7 year old had a blast , Its fun watching them react to the birds coming in, he said man dad those teal are hard to hit !! he said I think I "winged" a few of of though lol |
