Well, some thieves smashed the back window of my truck in Longview, TX last night and jacked my left handed Benelli Super Black Eagle II. It's in Advantage Max-4, 28" barrel, has an Avery DU sling, a MOJO barrel sticker, and another barrel sticker that says DUCKJACKER 9000. The serial number is U398524. If any of y'all happen to see one for sale, or see one in a pawn shop, I'd really appreciate it if you'd check to see if it's mine. I just talked to Bass Pro, and the value is $1679.99. I really don't wanna have to buy another one. Phuckin' thieves.

Sad that this has become so common in the past few years. It seems almost like if you want a new back glass, all ya gotta do is put a gun rack and a $20 pellet gun in it. Some ass will be along shortly to smash and grab. Sons a bitches!!!!!!!!!!!    Hope it works out for ya.

I feel for you, had my prodrive rig stolen 2 years ago out of my driveway and I still haven't gotton over it. Keep looking, sometimes these things can be found in the oddest places. The cops found a boat the was stolen a few weeks after mine was stolen. The boat was stolen about 120 miles away from where I live but they recovered it around the block from my house. Coincidence? I think not.

The person that stole it probably lives near you and knows your routine. If I were you I would get it fixed, put another shotgun in the same spot and watch closely. He very well may be dumb enough to come back for more. I have been tempting my local thief for 2 years now. He will eventually let temptation get the best of him.

Well, at least I'm an NRA member and can get $1000 back through the NRA firearm insurance. My insurance policy wouldn't cover it, and my deductible is too high to file the busted window. These phuckin' thieves just cost me $2k. I sure hope they get what's coming to 'em.

good luck on the NRA insurance. I've had two guns stolen and NRA insurance always had an out. This last one they said they did not get claim Had sent it in with return receipt requested and got it. They claimed they never got it. Sent them a copy of receipt and they claimed they still never got it. Refiled and they said it was too late had to be filed by so many days after incident. RUN AROUND.

What part of Longview? I'll check around Kilgore and put word out looking for that type of gun.

Luckily, I have an insider at the NRA in D.C. that's helping me out, but who knows if it'll work or not. It happened on McCann, right there by Butcher Shop, Kobee, etc. Apparently it's a big problem in Longview right now, so take your valuables out of your car.

I got a querstion...Let's say I have all of my gun's serial numbers written down, but i don't have any receipts (hand me down guns) and then someone breaks in and steals them...i file a police report and give them the numbers...then later, i see one of the guns in a pawn shop. What happens next? Do the police just go in to this guys shop and take the gun from him and give it to me? Anybody go thru this situation? Just curious.

The police take the gun, I think they call it reclamation of stolen property. They hold it for 20 days to allow the pawn shop to file an appeal of ownership. If they file an appeal, you go to court, prove that you own the gun, and then the court places restitution to the pawn shop, who is now the victim of fraud, on the thief or whoever pawned it. It can be a long drawn out process, and in some places, the original gun owner has to buy the gun back from the pawn shop, and have restitution paid to them from the thief.

Here's a good thread on another forum, with a Texas cop explaining all the ins and outs.

had a friend who was ex district attourney and he knew all the pawn shops. I had a gun stolen and friend knew the gun and that it was mine. He was shopping and was in a particular pawn shop and saw the gun there. As I said he knew all the shops and this one was known for buying stolen property often. He simply bought the gun by writing a check for it and returned the gun to me. When the shop contacted him because he put a stop payment on the check, he simply told them that he found out that the gun had been stolen and was not paying them. He replied that he had turned it over to the dept that had the stolen report. They never said anything else about it.

I have my gun back.
