Lines of Kansas
Set some banklines over the weekend, and was able to get the boat into places I have never been able to before the mudmotor setup. Gotta say it was satisfying once i wrangled this bad boy into the boat off the bankline.

Re: Lines of Kansas
Forgot to add, he bottomed out my 50 lb scale so I am thinking he was right at 55 or so............let him go to be caught again one day. Hard for me to keep fish that have been patrolling the waters for 20-30 years. Guess I'm a softy. We catch plenty of smaller flatheads around 5-15 lbs to keep for the fish fries.

Re: Lines of Kansas
Stumpgrinder, we cooked some 30lb black drum and I thought they were OK. I caught one over 90lbs and put it back. Dude with us said it prolly had worms as big as your thumb in the meat. We watched a dude scale one with a flat back shovel. Nice flatheads. Kill em all. They are hell on smallmouth.

Re: Lines of Kansas
I was coming back to the ramp from running some nets when I came across a couple fellers wading around with a little boat behind them. I stopped and asked if they were o.k. and learned they were biologist. They were pulling the boat and it had a small shocker rig in it. They said they wade up to stumps and put the shocker probs down into the water near the stump and shock up fish. They were doing a study on flatheads that day. I sure would have liked to got a better look at that shocker. Randy
