1848 pd 36 pd
finally caught the mud bug, boat a 1848 pd x-series boat with center console. 36 hp pd with hydraulic trim and reverse. i was a lil concerned about the center console at first, but now i love it! so easy to just cruise around and sip on a cold on

you'll love that rig. Crews has the same rig and I am a little jealous of that center console!

I can't tell from the pics, but is that the hydro reverse or the manual?
Thanks,

Re: 1848 pd 36 pd
I guess I should have been more specific. Hydro trim and hydro reverse. Doesn't make sense to have a manual reverse with a center console. Too much of a pain

Re: 1848 pd 36 pd
Thanks for the clarification. I put my rig together before the hydro reverse was developed and $1,500 to add is a bit steep when it cost less than that to order the option on a new motor. Go figure.

Re: 1848 pd 36 pd
How do you like the steering with the console? I just haven;t seen many and have always wondered why more don;t do it? Does not having a tiller limit you a lot? Thanks.

Re: 1848 pd 36 pd
A boat with a tiller will be much more maneuverable which = Better handling in the woods. I have run several center console and they are easier to drive but not as maneuverable. It all depends on what your needs are

Re: 1848 pd 36 pd
That is kind of what I figured that you would lose some maneuverability without a tiller but I really like the console idea. We don't have any flooded woods or timber out here in CA and I would mainly be running in shallow sloughs and rivers. I honestly don't think I'd lose much with a console but I've just never seen one out here and I like the idea.
