hey quackstacker, who over in the tyler area has a mud boat, big red truck, black wheels ? My brother was telling me about hunting with him one morning on towakani when he pulled into the same spot my brother was in and then running into him again this year at the ramp......I was just wondering if it might be someone on here?

Ive seen him at boat ramps but dont know his name.

i dont know, he hunted with him last year and he had a dog.....i dont know anymore than that. I know that when he saw him at the ramp this year he had hunted on a point near were he and my brother had hunted and didnt shoot anything, my brother faired well up the other way in some cove/creek.

That would be me. Is this the dog and boat you speak of. By the way had fun hunting with your brother last year. And yes i got skunked the morning your brother got his limit. Not very many birds in east texas this year or atleast not for me.

alright, cool......he does some scouting out there when he can but he works alot with his new job, flying somewhere once or twice a week.....so he hasnt as much this year, that spot yall hunted is where he goes when there is a crowd to push the birds out of the creeks and coves. He has been hunting out there for 5 or 6 years so he has an idea of how to pattern the birds with the crowd size lol......

Yeah i agree that spot is defiantly better when there is a crowd, but i am sick of wading through thick ass mud and wanted to relax in my layout. Yes it is a Chessie he is 3 years old and does pretty good. He can be hard headed at times though. You got a good looking pup to. Hope the training goes well for you.

hard headed independant dog, sometimes im ready to bash his brains in he can frustrate me so much. But when he is in the zone he works awesome.....having trouble with him breaking, just started happening the last couple of weeks and he is starting to take his time when told to sit or whistled to sit.....I heard they go through a real bad rebellious stage around 7 months and to go back to basic obedience training and fun fetch games until he chills out some, mostly reinforcement training. He has also got a bad habit of trying to pick the training ducks up by the scruff of the neck instead of mouthing the body.....I hope i dont have to force fetch him but then again sometimes he grabs the duck right and comes on back.......I will probably keep working with him until july or august and then send him in for a week for a professional to finish him, unless i get lucky and i can finish him........
