When would you say the extra cooler is a necessity? I'll be running slightly modded heads, roller rockers, longer push rods, oversized valves, modded stock carb, cam, and exhaust. I was planning on adding an extra cooler, but don't have an awesome spot to put one on a vertical motor. I'm afraid I'll tear it off if I mount it to the fan shroud. If your putting longer push rods in you deffinately need an aux. oil cooler, no doubt about it!!! Good one. If I knew the answer, I wouldn't have asked the question. And by the way jackass, I wasn't asking if I needed an oil cooler to use different push rods. I posted everything that had been done to the motor the give the guys actually trying to help an idea of what I was doing. For those of you actually trying to help out, thanks. I knew I had raised my compression a little bit, but I was still under 200 with the heads and other top end stuff. I didn't know if adding a cam raises compression or not. I'm assuming not, but don't know. Are heads and pistons or connecting rods the only mods that make higher compression? I'm learning what I can when I can. And I've learned quite a bit off of this site, thanks to those that can take the time out of their day to help and answer questions that some would consider silly. Yes.

Does panty hose count as a filter? Yeah, sometimes I really wish my carb was on top in front the muffler! My carb acts like a muddy water vacuum! lol

See I learned something new today. WRONG! Adding a cam will make your compression go up, NOT by much but it will. For the simple fact that you are taking in more air into the same size combustion chamber.

Correct....different cam grinds and different valve settings can also change it slightly....but it's minimal. Sorry bout that....I was trying to keep it simple.

 Re: behold...
How? It's impossible for a stage 3 engine to last that long.....I'm not believing that!

Lol you gonna laugh but could i do that to our 15hp go devil long tail? regular 1.5" galvanized exhaust pipe many moons ago, i built a set of pipes for my 20 hp GD long tail *remove your stock exhaust *cut / grind off the flanges from the stocker (get new gaskets) *make a "templet" for each side by bending a brazing rod or similar *find a local muffler shop, match tubing diameter to stock "head pipes" & get them to bend it according to your templets. pick up some exhaust tips while your there * bolt up the flanges & fit the new pipes (just tack weld for now) make sure you have enough support for the pipes * remove & finish weld * you can paint with high heat paint or wrap them (jeg's / summit has the wrap) * bolt up & go annoy the piss out of people (don't forget the ear plugs)
