Re: Wallisville Run 03/09
Damn, I missed about 6 pages of pure BS about this motor this, and this motor that.
IMO, theys all good mud motors, and I wont say mines better that any other, cept for what I use mine for. I can see advantages in all of them, and think they are all fine built machines.
Anyone ever heard (may have seen it on MMT earlier today) its the Indian, not the bow!!
When I was at Wallisville, I pulled up right next to a PD stuck in the mud, stopped, and offered help. It was slow, but making progress, so I tied up to another boat, and we both pulled. Ive also been the one stuck on some floaton, and had a PD pull me off. I really dont think any motor has any more capability to go through the thick any better than another. I do think the weighted back design of the PD helps in the vegitation, and I think the ballanced design of the GD helps a bunch in the stumps, and from my brief time operating a GT, I think it offers the best of both. I also think from my experience the MB offers the worst of both. But at least a MB has hydraulic tilt, and neutral. What I got works great for what I need.

Re: Wallisville Run 03/09
da point u missed is dat any of 'em coulda just cruised around without having any problems.... dat's nuthin special. I coulda done it with an outboard. Da other 2 were stuck because dey stopped to help someone in a bad spot, not because dey couldn't have kept going. Gigafart tries to make it seem as if he accomplished something that da others couldn't, but da reality of it is he did far less.
Now he thinks he's hot snot on a seafood platter...... when he ain't nuthin but a cold buggar on a paper plate.

Re: Wallisville Run 03/09
Stump is right. Any of them could have made it through. I mean wide open, no stopping, when momentum is in your favor.
I stopped because before i realized it i was in some sticky shit with my boat facing the wrong direction. If i would have layed in it i might still have been out there. The other two got stuck because they thought they were far enough away that getting out wouldnt be a problem. Needless to say we were all up da creek
