Guys,

I am a new member and I am trying to decide what type of mud motor to buy. I really want a SD but maybe you guys can help. I have a 16x48 alumacraft that has pods on the back. It also has a blind on it that is made with conduit framing and aluminium sheets. The blind is about 150lbs. I hunt with three guys, dog, & gear. What do you guys recommmend? It is also a talk transom 20". The transom has been rebuilt and braced really good.

I spoke to mud buddy and they said the same. Waht brand do you think? What is the difference between a LT or SD drive. And is there a difference with the side pressure on the tiller one vs the other?

Lt are slow, and a bit@h to turn with in anything tight, even tight turns in the open can be hard, surface drives are faster and spin a bigger prop.

Pods are a half ass solution for a boat bein too short. I would only use dem wit a LT.
