Ohh and on topic, Guidry, what stops the people who don't care at all about assigned blinds. What enforcement you recommending. Cuz there's not enough man power to deal with that. And you'll always have guys who post up in blinds and don't care about the "new" system.

By the time you get through printing and signing paper work to go hunting it'll be past shooting time, Easy solution, be curtious to other hunters and be aware of where you are in the marsh. problem solved!

I mean really this is a freaking joke, there is plenty of marsh out there to be hunted, i'm pretty sure if you have a certain spot i can guarantee that 9 out of 10 people already know about it. Just hant and be safe, not shooting anytihing is part of hunting, your not going to limit everytime. Just watch out for people always and don't set up on top of anouther hunting party. Like i said before be curtious to other hunters.

Post Re: SaaS/Cloud Database for Hunting Spot Assignment/Enforcem
By all accounts, its been a long time since we've had this many birds come in to Indian Bayou. I've seen flocks, upon flocks of big birds this year whereas last, even one a day was a rarity. No problems so far with hunter conflicts, at least from my perspective. However, I was the first one at the public landing every morning so I got my pick of spots. My camp is less than 3 miles on the levee from the landing so I have a slight advantage. The young bucks seem to have gotten drunk and overslept. Even hunted the state land North Flats compliments of the Collette's, Lassagnes and Patins when Indian Bayou was closed this past weekend because of either sex deer hunting season. There were many duck hunters I heard shooting in closed areas who were apparently not aware of this. The Game Wardens were out in full force and probably ticketed a good many of them as they were easy to detect.

I'd be interested to hear of any problems any of you who hunted the area may have had.

Maybe this is what it will come to instead:

Waterfowl blinds
are authorized as lakeshore structures and require a
$25.00 non-refundable handling fee. Applications
for blind permits will be accepted between May 1
through June 30 each year at the Wallisville Visitor
Center. Applications may be mailed to The Wallisville
Lake Project, P. O. Box 293, Wallisville, Texas
77597. For more information, please contact the
Visitor Center at 409-389-2285. Notice of the
waterfowl blind processing meeting date will be
provided to each successful applicant after the
drawing for permits is conducted.

Restrictions on blind locations will be required and
enforced by theWallisville Ranger. Blinds will not be
permitted in open waters on channels normally used
for boat traffic. Each blind location will be recorded
on a master control map maintained by the
Wallisville Ranger and will be available for viewing at
the Ranger Station. Construction of blinds will be
allowed only at the location specifically designated
under each permit and shall not be moved to another
location without permission of the Wallisville Ranger.
For safety, blinds will be placed a minimum of 200
yards from each other. (Day-hunters” must be
hunting at least 200 yards from a permitted blind
and/or other day-hunters.)
Temporary blinds may be either stationary or
floating. Floating blinds must be securely anchored
or moored. Under no circumstance will blinds by
constructed in trees. The owner of the blind or his
representative (designated by name, address and
telephone number at the time the permit is issued)
must be available to care for the blind when called
upon to do so by the Wallisville Ranger.
A numbered tag will be issued with each permit. This
tag must be securely attached to the blind exterior
and in a position which is clearly visible. If the tag is
lost or stolen, the incident should be promptly
reported to the Wallisville Ranger.

I like our system. But you will still have people hunt your blind. TRUST ME. We did however have an easy time kicking people out. The only problem with your area is its freakin large. Its hard to enforce a large area like that.

(For years, I hunted with clubs that used similar, though less technical methods of deer stand allocation. We drew chips, exchanged chips with the elderly so they could hunt more accessible spots, deferred better spots to young ones so they could get the experience, deferred better spots so those who had not killed might get a better chance. )quote from dguidry

So Guidry you basicly sayin yall drew chips for yall stands . then through them away picked what stands yall wanted and hunted.
