 18x36 with 31 gdlt
How yall think a 18x36 godevil boat with a 31 longtail would run with 2-3 guys, dog and gear? I'm wondering if the boat might be too narrow and draft too much with the round chines and not be able to get on step in the shallow hard bottom stuff. Anyone opinions from someone that has run this setup?

36 or 38? Buddy has a 1638 with a 23lt and he likes it. Most I think he's hauled is 2 ppl and dog. Not sure on speeds but he hasn't bitched about it. Being an 18 with a 31 I bet it would run fine.

I'm sure the dude knows what he has but I sure thought the 36 looked more like a skiff.

Looks like one of those gd duck skiffs to me. Nice lil package for 5g's. I bet it will step 3 and gear just fine.

 Re: 18x36 with 31 gdlt
I have a 18x38 GD and ive run a 24lt,27lt,31 hyper and now 36PD on it.There should not be a problem planing out with 3 or 4 people in it whether shallow or deep. They do sit kinda low in the water so I put splash rails on mine to keep water from walking up the side.As far as backsplash you should not have a problem.

 Re: 18x36 with 31 gdlt
I just have a dumb question-
Don't you boys feel uncomfortable in such a narrow boat? I mean really, it's practically a canoe. You couldn't cross anything bigger than an 8" chop in the thing.

 Re: 18x36 with 31 gdlt
Y'all are just a bunch of Pussies on the East Coast. There are people around here that will pile 4 peeps, a dog, and all thier gear in a 14x32 with a 7.5 and if you don't act crazy you are fine, it just takes a little getting used to.

 Re: 18x36 with 31 gdlt
This 18x38 is the widest aluminum boat Ive ever owned and I may not want to cross the Mississippi on a day with a hard south wind but I will pretty much take off accross anything else but its not a dry riding boat in rough water.
