 Grab Bar Fabrication help needed
As you can see in the attached photos i am currently using half a push pole to substitute for a snazzy cool guy grab bar. The reason, i cannot use a "traditional" grab bar is the left receiver piping was removed by the previous hull owner (trip hazard and he had a PD on the hull). The right slot is still there abutting my gun box (see in photo with big arrow).
The 1/2 push pole is working for now but would like to make or have someone make me a more ergonomic removable grab bar. Maybe one that comes in towards the driver and is bent towards center to have a horizontal handle.
I know I would have to drill through the bar and receiver so that i could put a bolt or pin in to make it stay in place and not spin and still be removable which is not super idea; however, i don't see any reason why that wouldn't work?
If you have made or have had something similar made please share so that i can get the ball rolling on something and get pointed in the right direction.
Thanks
Brian

Figure out what you want and any fab shop with a pipe bender should be able to hook you up.

Take it to a welder that deals with aluminum. They can make you one pretty quick. Id find a way to make it removable so when you're fishing it doesnt get in the way.

Re: Grab Bar Fabrication help needed
Measure the inside diminsions of the pipe mounted to you gun box, call Mud Buddy, they have a grab bar just like what you are looking for, but not sure if it would fit, they could give you the ouside diminsions of there bar, this is what I am talking about...
I am sure they would just sell you the Bar without the mounting kit if it will fit your application...
I am not home or I would measure mine and tell you what size it is, I think O.D. Is like 1-1/8" or 1-1/4". Can not remember...

Re: Grab Bar Fabrication help needed
Could you drill a hole in the reciever and permanantly leave a bolt in there, than notch the bottom of the grab bar to fit it? Not sure if it would compromise the integrity of the bar or not, but would make it easy to remove and probably (?) keep it from spinning

Re: Grab Bar Fabrication help needed
this is the grab bar i made for mine, i use a pin with a little clip to keep it from spinning. looks like its a little far forward might need to cut the pipe off the gun box and move it a little closer.

Re: Grab Bar Fabrication help needed
Y'all have some good ideas for the grab bars... I have a bar kinda like a "roll bar" I guess on mine, it had lights mounted on it when I bought it, but hunted a place where there was about 40 yards of land between ponds and used it to push my boat, and with that bar chest level, way easier than bending over pushing the boat... Wouldn't mind trying to make it remove able ...
