Post Remote Steer with Hunt Deck
I'm looking to have a boat built. I really want a hunt deck...if nothing else because I think they look really sharp. I am also wanting a center console...so this means remote steering for the Prodrive which will power the rig. A typical teleflex "conventional" steering probably won't look good and won't work on this kind of set up will it?

So, I'm guessing the alternative for this set up is hydraulic steering? What kind of cost impact am I looking at? Is this the route I need to go? Is there another remote steering alternative that would be better/more economical?

Thanks.

Will a hunt deck work with a PD? I thought that it would have to be more of a "Sport" deck because of the trim unit.

But, I could be wrong.

The reason you don't see many PDs on a hunt deck is because the tiller will hit the false transom.

We can no it. I wouldn't suggest just anyone trying it, without having correct measurements of motors pivot.

I can have my engineering team draw something up with sidewalk chalk if that would help.. LOL

I have a pd on a hunt deck and we had to get longer hydrolic lines for the tilt/trim and reverse motors which we mounted inside the boat. and we have teleflex on our setup and works well. hydrolic steering wld probably be a watse unless u would run duals. it operates just fine
