 My son's first boat
My wife and I had our first child this past October. Of course, I had to build my son a boat. This is his all cypress Lafitte Skiff rocker. He seems to enjoy it, I enjoyed building it, getting to use some old tools I don't get to use so much anymore building aluminum boats, and hopefully it will be around for him to be able to use for his son.

 Re: My son's first boat
Thanks for the kind words! It was one of those labor of love projects. I had less hours in the last real aluminum boat i built then I had in building this rocker, but it was well worth it.

That's a damn good looking rig. Hell, that's way nicer than dguidry's real boat.

 Re: My son's first boat
I've seen this build firsthand, and it made me feel bad that I didn't do something of similar scale for my kids. Justin is a great guy, who married a great girl, and had a great son. I'm jealous of his skill set that allowed him to build, not just an awesome crib, but an heirloom and a legacy that will be seen, used, and cherished by future generations of his family. There's a lot wrong with the world today, but this is one of those things that is right. Long story short, I second the compliments.
