 I hate sanding
And I hope it's the suckiest part of this Gatorbase today. G2 Wednesday and Thursday. I hope south GA gnats make the base stronger

 I hate sanding
That was the suckiest part. Got 4 layers of gator base on today. Stuff is easy to apply. And yes, looks like a got a pretty good one during gator season.

 Re: I hate sanding
Once the sanding is done you have it made. You will be glad you put it on once it's done. It will slide around on the grass with no problem. Leave it hooked up at the ramp until you are in the water.

 Re: I hate sanding
With just the base in its slick as shit. If the g2 is much slicker then I'm scared!
I know not to unhook it. I had one with frogspit on it when that was the latest and greatest

 Re: I hate sanding
Yes...the sanding is the worst part!! You have it easy...your boat is upside down....and you're only doing one boat! I did two boats...one upside down, one suspended from an overhead crane. I'd take that flipped boat every day of the week and twice on Sunday....oh wait...I don't want to do anymore sanding. Scratch that!

 Re: I hate sanding
My FIL has a hoist system so I thought about doing it suspended but really hated the idea of being under it and reaching up to sand and to paint for hours. The bottom was only painted from the start of the rake forward and I went 3" up each side. I had a palm sander and an orbit sander. The palm sander sucked. I used 80 grit to take the paint off the rake and sides and then went over everything with 120 grit using the orbit sander

 Re: I hate sanding
Had to do some work on my trailer so I just pushed it off by hand then winched it right back on. I got the gator base with g4 and that sucker is slick
