 12P Prop
My boat has gotten heavier though out the year, just adding this and that and the last couple of times i took it out it was really slower bc of 3 big asses in it. Everyone told me it should do better and something was wrong with it. (like valves leaking or prop was shot) i took it in and had a gt dealer do a leakdown test and compression check... He said it was checking out "better than okay". I pulled the prop to let him inspect it and discovered it was a 12P.It came on the motor this year brand new on a 2015 gtr 35 carb motor. I'm like, well no wonder it's running like shit! How common is this occurrence? Boat was a new 2015 sea ark mudrunner.

 Re: 12P Prop
Are you sure that isn't a 10, and the 0 had a / through it? Never heard of a 12 p 3 blade. Out of curiosity, could you art it on something perfectly flat with the 3 tips touching, and run a straight edge across the hub and measure how tall it is?

 Re: 12P Prop
I tried several pics to show the 2 as plainly as you can see it in person... Is it common to have a slash through the 0 in a 10p? In person, the 2 looks as plain as day to me. I was told that sea ark builds a boat, orders a gt 35 for it, and tells gt what prop they want on that boat. But yes, when i ran it light, it was ridiculous.

 Re: 12P Prop
That's not how you measure diameter or pitch... Measure one blade from dead center of the hub hole, to the tip, then multiply it by 2. That will be the true diameter of the prop.
Why not just run it over to Coastal Prop in Bridge City and have him take some pitch off of it? He does surface drive props on a regular basis and did my Longtail props. The guy does good work and the turnaround is usually pretty decent. Cheaper than buying a new one.
What are your speeds and RPM with different loads or empty? That would tell us more.

 Re: 12P Prop
Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't have a question about the performance of it... I was wondering if it was normal on an el-cheap-o sea ark. Figured it would cost around 75$ to have it worked... Or i could sell it for 150 and spend another 50 on a new 1 to answer your question... I never could afford a spare, so if it doesn't sell, i will figure out how to afford 1

 Re: 12P Prop
There's 2 letters above the 12p that i cant make out. Is it normal for GT to put the pitch of the prop on there in the fashion that mine is done in, and do they put any lettering on it? The only other option is that someone switched props with me. Ive had it in the shop a couple of times. Or maybe someone was bored when the prop was made and scratched his initials and 12p in it! Lol

 Re: 12P Prop
Take a sharpie or some kind of marker and fill the lettering in, wipe the excess off around the letters. Should be able to see them a little better.
