Can I get a jack plate mounted on this transom?
Looking to mount a T-H Marine Hi-jacker on my boat so I can run a long shaft outboard motor for bowfishing. Does it look like I have enough of a surface to safely mount a jack plate to? I see there are 2 mounting holes and they look pretty far apart so I'd hate to rip the jack plate off because the transom is only 4 or 5" tall.

It will mount on the outside of the transom. You will be fine.

JC, does your transom have vertical supports of any sort on the inside that the jack plate bolting is mounted against?
I wouldn't be a fan of mounting it to the transom with just the horizontal support and a couple of knee braces spaced to the sides. The lower bolting hardware would have to mount to the thin aluminum transom.
Most liberals seem to suffer from the same mental condition....it's called stupidity!

Re: Can I get a jack plate mounted on this transom?
Thats just a picture I googled up, not my boat. Won't the jack plate have a bigger flat surface against the transom than the actual motor has? The aluminum angle is probably 3 or 4 inches wide on each side and a motor bracket might be 2 inches wide. I would think if your transom will hold the motor now it would be fine with the jack plate. Or am I missing something?
