I had the same issue as all the guys above in a tracker 1542 I cut the transom 2in now it's 15 and put a shim on the motor now I have a lot of adjustment down and up .. I have the bps exhaust and have had the carb messed with also adjusted the gov I run a steady 27mph at 4020rmps with 2 guys and gear just have to keep messing with it. The guys are right angle is huge on these small jons but If I did it again or on next rig for me I'd go with a mod v to stop plowing as much .. better water displacement also with these massed produced boats the are many things that make 1 different from the other .. mine has a slight hook in the back of boat which i can never get rid of that will also cause big issues in performance.
