Hello everyone! Finally registered for the site after ready many helpful posts. Building my first mud motor and putting it on an Alumacraft 1436L. Mostly solo hunt, maybe one other, in the Everglades. Got a medium Swamp runner kit and wondering the best direction to go for the engine. Honda too much $$ for me. Who makes the best of the clones? Looking for reliability and longevity when I'm in the middle of no where. Thanks in advance!!!

I went with a Predator 420cc engine when assembling my Mudskipper setup primarily because of the availability of aftermarket modifications. With this motor being a Honda clone, you can trick it out as far as your wallet will let you. Also Harbor Freight stands behind their stuff pretty good. I have had nothing but good to say about BOTH the Predator engines and the Mudskipper kit.
