Post How's the duck hunting in Indiana?
I have gotten a job offer in the agricultural industry in Indiana that I more than likely going to take, with duck season just really getting kicked off here in the Mississippi delta it has me to wondering how is the waterfowl hunting in Indiana? It will more than likely be this spring before I make the move but I can always look forward to next season! Any and all input is welcome, any WMAs that are good for waterfowl hunting and that sort of thing

I've had to make a trip up there the last two years in April, and between the Canadian geese and mallards, I've come home angry at them both times lol.

I was just up there for a bow hunt, there were a lot of people goose hunting from the fields and ponds. In the couple of flooded areas that I saw I did see quite a few ducks. Although, quite a few ducks for me is probably a lot less ducks than you are used to seeing where you are at.

I almost moved to the Valparaiso area two years ago. I started looking for public places to hunt and found quite a few opportunities around the area. Also looked at Eastern Illinois south of Chicago...many opportunities there as well. With all the agriculture in the state, you should be ok. It was February when I was up there, 20 inches on snow on the ground, some water not frozen and you could not fit another Mallard or Canada on it. It was that way for every inch of water that was not frozen. Think you will find the hunting to be very good. Good luck with the transfer.

If you wanna have an awesome time and maybe stay in a room where children were conceived on one side and someone got stabbed over an 8-ball on the other come on down I got a can of raid. :D

The Wabash corridor is not what it used to be. The migration route has shifted to the west toward the big duck parks of Missouri. I'm down on the southern tip and we can still have some pretty good years if there is enough harsh weather up north to push them . We rely heavily on flood water to bring in big numbers but in the last few years dry fall conditions have allowed farmers to till all of the area fields and even if we do get enough rain to flood them, there's nothing left for the ducks to feed on.
