Boat and motor set up
I'm starting to look at a new boat and motor setup, and am gonna be in the market for one very soon. As far as boats go, my options locally (Washington) are grizzly, Lowe, ranger, and possibly gator trax (their website says bass pro shops is a dealer for them). Gator tail, pro drive, excel, timber creek-I would love one of theirs but there's no way I could drive down to Arkansas or Louisiana to buy a boat, and I'm sure shipping would be just as much as the hull itself. So with my options what would you recommend? I'd like to put a surface drive on it. That brings up my next question. Gator tail, mud buddy, pro drive-what do you guys recommend? Looking mainly for ease of maintenance, longevity, durability, and of course CUSTOMER SERVICE! That's a big one.
Thanks for the advice in advance.

Factor in your proximity to any local shops that do warranty work for any of the aforementioned manufacturers products.

Re: Boat and motor set up
People ship cars, boats, and trailers across county all the time. I shipped a motorcycle in Washington and had it shipped to Texas for under 800. I also had a car shipped from San Francisco for 1100. I would imagine a boat would be in the 1200-1500 range. If you can spend that money and be more happy with your purchase...I would consider it.
Gatortrax builds good boats, and can customize it however you want. There are a lot of good custom builders, and most of the big name mud boat manufacturers make a good hull.
As far as a motor, go with what you like. It's kind of a Chevy vs Ford debate. Most the big companies are reliable and stand behind their products. Get a reverse model if you want it. It's cheaper than attempting to add it later (if even possible).

I'm in NW Montana. There's a MB dealer in coeur d'alene. Closest dealer around that'll take you and for a ride.

Mudbuddy northwest. Good luck finding yourself a rig. If you ever make it over this way before you do let me know. I'll let you run mine to help get an idea of what you want. It's nothing fancy, it's a 45mag on a 1860 grizzly. Runs 25-27 and doesn't seem to care what I have loaded in it.

Re: Boat and motor set up
That strikes me as steep.
For that amount of money I'd start to consider taking a few days off and making the 60 hour round trip...
