Post Godevil rooster tail
My 35 HP godevil throws almost no rooster tail. I don't really care but I'm wondering whether that's indicative of having it trimmed wrong i.e. the prop is sitting too low in the water and I could be getting more performance if I trimmed it up some. I know I should just go out and try it but weather hasn't been so good on the weekends lately and I haven't had a chance. Any advice?

You said it yourself, gotta go out and try it. Trim up and see of you gain any speed.

The GDs don’t throw as high of a roostertail. They definitely do have one though, so keep trimming up until you reach max RPMs and bite.

Play with the weight in your boat. I keep most of the weight on port side up front. You’ll feel the boat settle in on the pad and throwing a rooster tail when balanced right. You’re going to lose speed if your trying to throw a rooster tail like a gt or mb. Go devils SD’s are designed to dig a lil.

Some GDSD’s don’t throw a roostertail. It just depends on the hull you have and the transom angle.

Depends on the prop too. My rapid throws no tail at all, my fat blade and my merc 2 throw tails to the sky. Transom angle and hull make a difference too like said above. If it’s performing well, the hell with it lol
