 Re: Gmc 6.2
Jb, you have any trouble out of the front end? im replacing all the ball joints up front today on mine. this makes $4100 in two weeks. Fuel milage is great, no drivetrain issues. but GD im tired of this shit. balljoints, ac acuators, new dash, front hub assemblies both sides. I need someting with a warranty. new gatortail getting farther and farther away. AK, u looking for a Dmax? what kinda GT you got?

 Re: Gmc 6.2
I guess big rich is saying that the ecoboost is not too fuel efficient. I totally agree with him. Its not what they claim. I think he needs to tell us what the mpg of his jeep gets . I don't know what he gets but I know its probably worse than the EB. Especially since the jeep weighs half of what a F150 weighs and has quite abit less HP and Trq.

 Re: Gmc 6.2
Depends on what you classify fuel efficient...
It takes so much gas to make so much H.P. The ecoboost's downfall is that the power it makes make you always want to be in the accellerator. You dont realize it, but this engine at 2000rpm will make pretty much full power. So you dont notice it cause you are used to an engine dropping gears and screaming up in RPM. The full power accross a longer/broader rpm rang requires more fuel.
Think of it this way,,,,,5yrs ago most 4x4 trucks averaged 14-15mpg. So averaging 17 aint that bad. And doing so with twice the power is a plus.
I will admit,,,compared to the hemi, the ecoboost is less forgiving in the MPG dept. You could get on the hemi a few times and not really notice any MPG diff. Do that with the eco and it drops faster...

 Re: Gmc 6.2
It's a damn truck. If u worried about fuel economy go buy a Prius. If u drive the Eco boost like a normal human prime driving age, it's gonna get shitty mileage. Put a 85 year old man in it with his hazards on doing 35 in a 55 and its gonna get 25 MPG.

I'd like ta see the actual paper calculation fer that, especially since that pic was taken more towards the beginning of the tank. Vehicles calculate high fer the first half ah the tank fer whatever reason. Most Fords figure high on their EVIC's. 3.55's now a days are mid gears fer the 1500 trucks. 3.93's are typically the lowest ya see unless someone special orders lower. My 1500 came with 3.21 which was close ta the highest available. I don't tow more than my duck boat anyway and with 400hp em gears are just fine.
BTW, check yer tires.

 Re: Gmc 6.2
That's why u have to be carefull when listening to these fools recommending buying a "used Duramax for 20g's" etc etc...
Those trucks can haunt you for way more then u pay for new! A coworker of mine has 250k+ on his! Most say wow!!! That's awesome! But 2 Alison rebuilds and 1 set of injectors and 2 front end rebuilds! He don't think it was such a good idea keeping it! You would have to save a shit load of money to convince me it's worth buying it used!
