i got a 1648 tappered chine pd with a 32 pd pushing it. Head work, exhaust, moddied stock intake and a 36 carb. It will push me, dog, and gear up to 30 mph. all in 3 to 6 feet of water it gets a little better in shallows.

I have a 50 hp pro drive on a 30x18" dugout canoe. I hit 52 the other day and a knot came out of the bottom of the log and I took on some water. If I put some gator glide on the axe marks on the bottom I think it will do a little better. Oh yeah, it's a round chine.

In the grand scheme of things, a few mph means a lot. I travel 10 miles to get to the camp. Another 12- 15 miles to get to the delta/redfish.

If u run your boat 50 hours a year, that could add up to an extra 250 miles traveled if u can pick up 5 mph. I want every bit of speed I can get out of my slow boat.

I have a 20 mile boat ride to my camp. I often have over a thousand lbs load in my boat. A stock motor is not an option for me. It's one thing to run 30-32 mph emptys, but I am never empty. However I do like being able to run 28-29 mph loaded.

Most people lie about their speeds. I would say with three people and gear that's about right for deep water and a stock engine. Is the prop in good shape?

I have a 1854 Unlce J and a stage 1 PD. I run 25-26 with three 200+ lb guys and two girls and a cooler.

Love hearing people talk about how they run in the 30's and then when at a ride they can't seem to go faster than 27.

Like I always say I pass people up all the time running 29 mph but they have 32 mph boats!!

Just got my 1754gatortrax with a hunt deck , put my 27 mini on it , I was thinking that when I put the bitch in the water the current would be faster well ,first let me tell you THIS IS NO BULL SHIT gps with me 215 wife 130 both my kids around 100 each cooler with drinks we ran 19mph all day not real fast but that will do , dumped them off on the bank ran 22 by myself.

I have a 1752 Cajun Performance with a fully modded PD, and the top speed I have seen is 32 with a regular load...But runs 30-31 at about 4450 pretty easily. I mostly cruise though at around 4000 at about 28-29. With three people, one 300 pounder, cooler, winch etc 27-28.

My motor isn't fast at all but that Lil mofo hauls a load and that's all that counts. That being said I will get my hands on a Briggs and build it up when I get a chance and some time.
