Re: Gmc 6.2 Every problem on this thread about Chevy happens to every manufacturer of trucks. Sometimes you get a good solid one and sometimes ya don't. I had a 95. Tranny went out at 100,000 miles. Had an 06 right half shaft blew out but bc a stick punctured a hole in my boot. I now have. 2007 and the rack and pinion went out in my power steering at 67,000 miles. Still love my truck. I loved my 06 z71 the best felt like that truck was unbreakable until. I could have all kinda problems get pissed and switch to Ford and my first ford have problems. Sometimes you just have bad luck and get the short end of the stick.

Re: Gmc 6.2 I hate to even say anything, but knock on wood, I just rolled 160k on my '06 Silverado with the 5.3 and haven't had any issues. Just some half-ass maintenance will go a long ways, as this truck has proven.

My 04 Z71 had 180k when I sold it. Original drivetrain.
My 10 Z71 had 45k when the 6 speed trans went out. GM replaced everything for free.
Still driving the 10.
