Kinda of off topic but keeping it evolving I guess. Has anyone mastered a tapered chine with 3/16 material. So the entire boat out of 3/16's? May as well throw in there a tapered rear hunt deck as well, for pushing in reverse as opposed to a lot I have seen that look square. I would think that would act like a dozer blade in the mud, no?

Thanks for all your input everyone I am learning a lot and from my initial thoughts on a boat a lot has changed already for what I would like to see along with the concealed winch.

Phil

I find that if the ice is 2" and good it makes more sense to get out of the boat and push it along. ;)

Phil, you win on the ice. We see some ice, even sometimes 2" thick but nothing like you do. Once I recall slowly running my boat on top of the ice, kinda like putting it on a trailer, then everybody would jump up and down while in the boat to break it. Only had to repeat that process for about 100-200ft in a small channel and it didn't always require the jumping. Then open water.

I think you could do a double taper 3/16 but I'd ask dfou he would know. Can't see how it would be any different than bending the side like the bottom unless the angle is more. I think the problem is when you want to do more than a double taper.

Gator tail boats are tapered in the rear like you are talking about.

Mounted a removable in the front of my gator trax with the receiver hitch style. Works great. The winch can rotate 360 with no problem. Used it the last 3 days.
