Nope it isn't the best way, that's why I posed the question...

Temps this low are rare here and I'd never launched a boat in them, let alone in current and by myself. I will be looking into the bunk alternatives listed.

All the shit talk was fun.

NE North Carolina. I remember ice sheets floating down the river on two other occasions. These recent mid-twenties mornings, the boat slid right off. Plus, I hadn't had it in the water only hours before. The last few days have been a different animal. It's a big learning curve that comes with boat ownership, especially when peak use times are in the harshest months but MMT, although brash and not forgiving of rookie mistakes, is a great place to shorten it. I've seriously enjoyed the back and forth. It's not personal

Damn the things people take for granted. I would never think in a million years that my boat freezing to the trailer would be a legitimate issue. I think I'll stay in south Louisiana. Lol

Post Freezing to the trailer

Hey guys, I got snow all over my
Motor this morning. Any tips on how to get the snow off? Or how to drive the boat in snow?

Flint, you gotta get in the boat and start pushing down and pulling up on the tiller as hard as possible! Try to rip it off the transom if possible!

I don't know of any other way to get the snow off the exhaust :?

Best thing to do is let all the oil out of the motor and start it up. Snow is like water and everyone knows oil and water dont mix. After it's drained let it bounce off the rev limiter for about an hour. The warm engine will keep any new snow from sticking.

These work well--valleys allow for drainage so not as much frozen surface area

Best thing to do is get an external water/ snow separator, mount it right next to the water fuel separator

Gotta be careful with the plastic bunks when it's freezing outside. Guy ahead of me at the ramp two years ago when it was like 13 degrees unhooked his boat up the hill from the ramp and as soon as he put it in reverse it slid right off and bent that brand new gator tail skeg about 90 degrees.
