Hence why I hunt private land that is gated off. None of these issues torment me.

That may be true, but you still shouldn’t turn a blind eye to public land issues. If that goes away it will only have negative effects.

Once public land is gone, then the private hunting only becomes more and more expensive until it’s a pastime for the wealthy.

Just look at Europe. You can’t throw a worm in a ditch for less than $100.

Yeah, but as long as you have inconsiderate and disrespectful people who can't follow rules, conduct themselves with integrity, and participate with the mindset of everyone having a good time, the public land issues will continue to get worse and worse. Remember, the bad decisions one makes does not just effect himself but many around him. When y'all see people doing things that arnt acceptable, confront them about it or report it. I've done the public land thing for a long time before I got fed up with arguments and cursing matches that sometimes led to physical festivities. In any event, My old man and I don't have to deal with any of that anymore because we hunt land that we and our close associates own. We don't worry about leases or how much they go up because we own our land and manage our land. Those that are affected by the public land laws and increased leases should do everything in their power to combat and report those that do not follow the rules or that make it miserable for everyone else, because if not, it will be a thing of the past for a lot of people.

If people would quit acting like that own the land then there wouldn’t be any issues .I have seen this happen first hand years ago on a guided hunt on PP land. We get there after a group and set up 50 at most yards from them. The guide was cussing at the other group as if they were trespassing on his land telling them he was hunting this pond because he has been hunting it all year. They were not In “His blind” and the “guide” we were with was wanting to fight them. The other groupwas nice and kept saying they weren’t moving and after a few times of them killing birds headed to us the guide decided to move. He drove right through their decoys raising hell on the way out and I was ducking my head knowing they were in the right. It is people like this guide that makes some kind of rules in PP land necessary. I have hunted others blinds a few time because I have scouted and found birds there. I always make sure to put fresh brush on it and leave it better than I found it. If someone ask me to leave their blind I would kindly tell them no, if they want to start talking crap then I would settle it accordingly.

Again, another example of why I enjoy my private land and am very happy my family and I made investments in private property.

It has been passed but nobody knows WTF is going on. The dip shit that headed this up needs to be held accountable for how terrible the organization of this new ordinance has been handled. I know some locals that had no idea about this until I asked them and they have not received phone calls back when calling the land department and tax assessors.

Here is the douche bags email that spearheaded this permit. Jedgecombe@ppgov.net I encourage everyone to email him with questions or concerns from this terrible attempt establish an ordinance. I emailed him to try and encourage him to pull Back for this season until they can iron out the details better and communicate to the public.

Too much regulation will hurt. My Sister has land in Lousiana. I was going to come visit for a week and fish in a lake her land borders. Nonresident Fishing License, Permit to put boat on lake, charge for boat ramp. just too much hassle and money.

It appears PP commissioners voted and passed the final ordinance. Looks like those sneaky bastards doubled the permit fees two days before season starts. 100 for residents and 500 non residents.

I’m in a holding pattern. I’m not going down until later in the season. If I hear of a good many people getting ticketed I’ll either buy one or go to another parish or state. I would like for them to feel the loss of tax revenue but in the end the small business owners are going to get the short end of the stock. Lots of people claim they are going else were but only time will tell.

You get the permit from the parish land office. And nobody really cares if duck hunters come or not. It don’t bring that much money in according to the marina owners.
