No, actually, it's you who has no clue. Your idea of "facts" are the absurd lies that you fall for hook, line, and sinker from your "news" sources who are nothing but corrupt propaganda outlets for the even more corrupt Democratic party. The fact that you are either too ignorant to recognize that just shows I'm wasting my time arguing with an idiot with an IQ less than 10. You have no facts. You have no evidence. You just turn everything into name-calling and ridiculous claims that have NOTHING to even do with the discussion at hand because that's all you and your party of morons can ever do.

I’ll add another:

8. If Mallards Only flips a quater 100 times, it will land an equal number of times on heads and tails.

And another:

9. If I have a medical degree and specialize in infections deseases and Mallards Only has a high school education, the odds that I will know the molecular structure and infections properties of virus better than him are 100%.

Brycecheramie: if we can’t agree on more than just number 1 then you are an incorrigible Trumpster and not worthy of my energy debating you, but we can still be friends.

I personally think that this virus is much more politically driven than it is a real problem. The reason I believe this and why I think this is mostly hype is because of these facts -

Houma has the second biggest Mardi Gras celebration besides New Orleans and runs 9 different parades just inside the city limits. Mardi Gras happened right before they discovered that this virus was out and about.

After Mardi Gras, the corona scare began for us. Take into consideration that the crime rate in Houma is almost the same as New Orleans, per capita. Each officer handles roughly 12-15 calls for service a night to include at least one to 2 arrests an evening.

Even though our officers worked Mardi Gras (required to work every parade), and have been working 12 hour shifts since this covid scare started, not a single person in our department has tested positive to covid-19, and we were all tested throughout this ordeal.

Though this virus may be a problem in other places, from what I have seen in the field, I cannot believe that this is indeed a real issue and not politically driven. For the area I work and the amount of people I come in contact with and the amount of houses and places me and my partners go in every night, what are the chances that not a single employee at a city police department with a high crime rate has this virus or has gotten this virus?

Like I said, I am no expert on this topic nor have I studied medicine or anything like that, but given my experiences and what I have actually seen, I believe this is a major major political move and not an actual real threat to people’s health.

I may be right or wrong, but that’s my thoughts on it.

Wchauvin, good points. But I don’t think you can compare Houma to New Orleans so easily. New Orleans was a destination point for Mardi Gras for people all of the US and the World so there was a much larger influx of potential carriers. And don’t forget one can be a carrier of the virus and be highly contagious without any symptoms.

Statistically significant is not a big word but an important one. If you don't know what it means then you have no business challenging results.

Statistically significant means a result is unlikely due to chance. The p-value is the probability a statistical result is accurate.

Mallards only said:

"Fauci has a vested FINANCIAL INTEREST in the vaccine."

You are beyond help. If I could look into your mind all I'd see are conspiracies. What a life.

Not to mention, if those numbers would be right, New York city’s population is 8.4 million people. The numbers in that article show that only about 5% of New York City population have tested positive.
With a 99% survival rate, I’d say even New York City is in good shape.

Mallards Only, you are confusing a “study” with and actual count of infected uniformed officers in NY. One does not need statistical analysis to determine what percentage of uniformed officers contracted the virus. All you need is to know how how to divide.

God, I love pointing out ignorance and stupidity. From the article:

"Of the department’s more than 36,000 employees, over 1,400 uniformed officers and civilian employees have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Wednesday, Police Chief Terence Monahan said."

1400/36,000 = 3.8%

Clearly, as usual, you either didn't read or didn't comprehend the article. 17% called in "sick" because they're chickenshits like you. They didn't have COVID.

Not only that but, out of those 1400, there's not a single report of one dying or even being hospitalized--just that they tested positive. Ever heard of herd immunity?????

You are pathetic and hopeless.

And why do you think the NYPD may have had so few deaths, if any. What do you think the average age and fitness of an NYPD uniformed officer is? Knowing that should help you answer the questions, Mallards Only.

I reviewed all of Mallard Only's posts since he joined MMT in 2018 I believe. You are one condescending and insulting individual even about non controversial subjects. It's clear you are a homophobe, antivaxer, at minimum. You're also probably a big recipient of government subsidies, so hypocritical as well.

Pretty textbook democrat reply too. You’ve been proven wrong, and resort to name calling.

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus discussion

My initial replies were regarding Houma vs NO and that very few Houma police officers contracted the virus versus the NO pd. It's all about density. My point in bringing up the NYPD figures even at 3.8% of the uniformed police, was to show that in fact uniformed police had contracted the virus and whether 3.8% or 17% it's still significant number. And it's not a "study" or a "model", it's a count and need only know how to divide.

Regarding whether you're a homophobe, I know what you posted and that's all that matters.
