Graduated 2.5 years ago with my bachelors in mechanical engineering. Love the work I do. I am employed by Colfax Corporation. Our product is high precision dry/wet pumps. Full benefits, extra life insurance policy, 401k, and still manage to bring home 53k a year.

Get a forestry degree and become a land consultant. A buddy of mine did this and loves it. He works with people who have tons of land and the benefits are awesome. The company he works for pays him well and they just bought him the truck of his choice. He spends his time in the woods offering advice to land owners of what they should do to get the most out of there land. Not to mention he basically gets hunting rights to some badass land. If I would do it again this is what I would have done.

Where you are you could come on over to State and study Agronomy and get a good job with the likes of Jimmy Sanders Corp, Stoneville Cotton, or Crop Production Services and make good money. You will work with delta farmers and can get in tight with them. That way you may get to hunt or lease their land for ducks.

I am a Marketing Major. I am doing that in order to get a job marketing the products to farmers in the delta. If you are like me, you will like it over here. Just a bunch of country boys. You need to check over there at WADE John Deere or maybe even with Case IH. I heard John Deere was sending boys to school to work on the new computer systems in these tractors. From what I hear, they are pretty complex and farmers are needing field engineers to come out and service their equipment. A couple of guys I went to Kirk with are doing this. The demand is there.

Doctor or Lawyer. that way you can live where you want. Most everything else you will live where you work.
Also, if its easy to get (degree, certificate, etc...) your going to have to get in line. Human nature sends most down the easiest path.
